Age and Dose Restrictions

• This combination can be used in adults and children above 12 years of age.

Contraindications

• It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to adapalene or clindamycin or other lincomycin preparations.

Medications to Avoid with This Drug

• Avoid taking neuromuscular blocking agents and applying topical antibiotics containing erythromycin. These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of Adapalene + Clindamycin.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• This medicine is applied to the skin, so an overdose is unlikely. Applying more than the recommended amount does not clear acne faster and may cause excessive dryness, peeling, redness, or irritation.
• If you miss an application, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not apply a double amount to make up for a missed application.

Management of Side Effects

• The side effects of this combination are temporary and resolve on discontinuation. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• It is unlikely to impair the mental alertness or coordination required while driving.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Caution is advised in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in patients with sensitive skin, allergic contact dermatitis, and a history of ulcerative or antibiotic-associated colitis.

Special Dietary & Lifestyle Recommendation

• Do not apply this combination directly to the nipple and areola to avoid getting it into your baby’s mouth.
• Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen before sun exposure, as topical clindamycin may increase sensitivity to sunlight. This precaution helps prevent sunburn and minimises the risk of hyperpigmentation.
• Use non-comedogenic moisturisers to keep the skin hydrated and protected.
• Avoid excessive touching, picking, or squeezing of acne lesions, leading to further inflammation and potential scarring.
• Avoid harsh scrubbing or over-washing, which can irritate the skin and worsen acne.
• Do not apply it to open wounds, cuts, or damaged skin, as it may cause irritation or blood absorption of its ingredients.
