Age And Dose Restrictions

• This combination can be used in adults and children as per the dosage and duration advised by the doctor.

Contraindications 

• It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity of ivermectin or albendazole.
• It is not advisable to take alcohol with Ivermectin + albendazole. It may intensify the side effects of the medication.

Other Medications To Avoid With This Medicine

• Avoid taking anticonvulsants (levamisole), antivirals (ritonavir), corticosteroids (dexamethasone), and anthelmintics (praziquantel) with this combination. These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of this combination.

Overdose And Missed Dose

• An overdose of Ivermectin + Albendazole may worsen side effects or cause additional symptoms. If an overdose is suspected, it should be managed as a medical emergency in a hospital setting.
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.

Management Of Side Effects

• Take this combination with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects and continue taking it as prescribed. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• This combination may not affect the ability to drive or operate machines. If you feel any discomfort, do not indulge in any activities which require focus and attention. Resume your work once you feel better. 

Use In Pregnancy And Lactation

• This combination is not recommended in pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Caution In Other Conditions

• Be cautious about the use of this combination if you have a weak immune system.
• Caution should be exercised while using this combination in elderly and in patients having liver issues, kidney issues, bone marrow problems, and cysticercosis involving the eye.

• Practice hygiene by washing your hands with soap and water regularly, specifically after using the toilet and before eating.
• Avoid consuming raw fish and meat, which can carry harmful bacteria or parasites.
• Ensure that meat is thoroughly cooked before consumption to kill any potential pathogens.
• Wash all fruits and vegetables carefully to remove dirt and contaminants before eating or cooking.
• Be cautious with leftover food; either reheat it thoroughly or discard it if it has been sitting out for an extended period.
• Prevent contact with soil contaminated with faecal matter to reduce the risk of infections.
• Choose foods from reputable sources and avoid purchasing open or exposed items in markets prone to contamination.
• Drink water that has been boiled and purified to minimise the risk of waterborne illnesses.

• Parasitic infections like roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and microfilaria occur due to poor sanitation and hygiene. These parasites can invade the intestines or blood vessels, causing abdominal pain, diarrhoea, fatigue, anaemia, weight loss, or skin rashes. The microfilaraemia associated with filarial parasites can lead to swelling and permanent lymphatic damage. Infections of this type are primarily caused by contaminated food, water, or soil, or through insect bites. Based on the type of parasite, treatment involves medications that kill parasites (antihelmintics). Sanitation and good hygiene practices can prevent illness. Children should be dewormed regularly, at least twice a year, to be free from such infections.
