Dosage Forms Available

• Ebastine can be taken orally (tablet).

Age and Dose Restrictions

• It can be used by adults and children 12 years and above.

Contraindications

• This medicine is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Ebastine or patients having or having a history of severe liver disease.

Other Medications To Avoid With This Medicine

• Avoid taking antibiotics (erythromycin, clarithromycin, josamycin), antifungal medications (ketoconazole, itraconazole), and antituberculous medications (rifampicin). These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of this medicine.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Ebastine may cause excessive drowsiness, dizziness, headache, and in rare cases, cardiac effects such as a prolonged QT interval (a change in heart rhythm visible on an ECG). If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Strict adherence to the prescribed dose is essential.
• If you miss a dose of Ebastine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for the missed one.

Management of Side Effects

• Most of the side effects are temporary and get resolved on discontinuation of the medicine. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• Experiencing dizziness and drowsiness is possible; refrain from driving or operating heavy machinery if you feel these effects.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy & breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in older adults and patients with liver impairment.
• This medicine may cause dizziness. Refrain from driving or operating heavy machinery after taking this medicine.
