Frequently asked questions
Dehydroepiandrosterone is a naturally occurring steroid hormone precursor. The body can convert it into androgens and oestrogens. Folic acid and vitamin D3 are vitamins and are not steroid hormones. Therefore, the entire combination should not be described simply as a steroid medicine.
Yes. The DHEA component may cause sleep disturbance, agitation or mood changes in some people. Consult your doctor if sleep problems begin after starting the combination or continue to worsen.
DHEA can be converted into androgens and oestrogens in the body, which is why it has been studied as an additional treatment during assisted reproduction. However, current evidence does not establish that routine DHEA use reliably improves ovarian response, pregnancy or live-birth outcomes, and the 2025 ESHRE update does not recommend its routine use in women expected to have a low ovarian response. Folic acid supports preconception health and early fetal development, while vitamin D3 supports calcium balance and bone health.
No general food restriction applies to everyone taking this combination. Follow a balanced diet and avoid taking additional DHEA, folic acid, vitamin D or fertility supplements unless your doctor approves them. Your doctor may give individual dietary instructions if you have kidney disease, high blood calcium or another medical condition.
Dehydroepiandrosterone + Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) + Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) may be taken daily only when prescribed at a specific dose and for a defined duration by a fertility specialist. DHEA should not be taken continuously or for prolonged periods without medical supervision because it can cause hormonal and other adverse effects.
There is no single established onset of action for this combination. The response depends on the purpose of treatment, ingredient strengths, underlying nutritional status and individual fertility plan. DHEA has not been shown to consistently improve pregnancy or live-birth outcomes, so a guaranteed time to benefit should not be stated.
Take Dehydroepiandrosterone + Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) + Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) at the time recommended by your doctor or stated on the product label. Taking it at approximately the same time each day may help maintain a regular schedule. If it causes sleep disturbance or stomach discomfort, consult your doctor before changing the timing.
