How Prulifloxacin works

Prulifloxacin is a prodrug, meaning it is converted into its active form inside the body after being absorbed.

Once activated, it works by blocking an enzyme called DNA gyrase, which bacteria need to copy and repair their DNA.

By preventing bacteria from replicating their genetic material, Prulifloxacin stops them from growing and multiplying, which leads to their death and clears the infection.
