• Polyethylene Glycol + Propylene Glycol is available as a powder formulation to be used via oral route. It comes in packets or bottles to be mixed with a beverage before ingesting.

• This medicine is intended for adults and children over 6 years of age.

Contraindications

• Polyethylene Glycol + Propylene Glycol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to either of its components.

• It should not be used in patients with suspected bowel obstruction or acute surgical abdomen.

Other medications to avoid

• Polyethylene Glycol + Propylene Glycol can interact with other laxatives (such as bisacodyl and senna), antidepressants (like amitriptyline and escitalopram), antiepileptic medications (including phenytoin and carbamazepine) and diuretics (furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide).

Overdose and missed dose

• Polyethylene Glycol + Propylene Glycol is intended for use in the eyes, so overdose is unlikely. Using more than the recommended amount may cause temporary blurred vision or eye irritation. If you accidentally swallow the preparation or experience persistent irritation, seek medical advice.
• If you miss a dose of Polyethylene Glycol + Propylene Glycol, use it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next scheduled application, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not use extra to make up for the missed dose.
