• Mometasone + Salicylic Acid can be used topically (creams, ointments, lotions, gels, shampoos, and solutions).

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults and children above 12 years of age. However, it is always recommended to consult your doctor for specific age and dose restrictions.

Contraindications

• This combination of Mometasone + Salicylic Acid is contraindicated in people with known hypersensitivity to either of the ingredients.
• It should not be used in people with viral skin infections (e.g. herpes simplex, chickenpox), fungal skin infections, skin tuberculosis, perioral dermatitis, and skin ulcers or open wounds.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Mometasone + Salicylic Acid may interact with other corticosteroids(clobetasone, hydrocortisone) and topical acne medications (like benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin). It can also interact with topical antibiotics (bacitracin, mupirocin), antihistamines (cetirizine, levicetirizine), anesthetics and exfoliants like alpha-hydroxy acids. When starting any new medication, it is important to inform your doctor about Mometasone + Salicylic Acid usage.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Applying more than the prescribed amount may cause burning, stinging, dryness, or irritation at the application site. Using large amounts for prolonged periods may increase the absorption of mometasone into the body. If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor immediately.
• If you miss an application of Mometasone + Salicylic Acid, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next application, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not apply extra to make up for the missed application.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• If you experience dryness or skin peeling, apply a non-medicated moisturiser 30 minutes after applying Mometasone + Salicylic Acid to help alleviate these side effects.
• Avoid scratching or rubbing the skin if irritation occurs.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Mometasone + Salicylic Acid does not generally affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience any dizziness or other side effects that might affect your attention or coordination, refrain from these activities until you feel normal again.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• The safety of using Mometasone + Salicylic Acid during pregnancy or while breastfeeding is unknown. Pregnant or nursing women should consult their doctor before use.

Caution in Other Conditions

• People with liver or kidney disease should use Mometasone + Salicylic Acid cautiously. It is advised that such patients consult with their doctor before using this medicine.
