• Molnupiravir is available for oral use as capsules.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults aged 18 years and above. It is not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age.

Contraindications

• This medicine is contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to molnupiravir or any of its ingredients.

Other Medications to Avoid With This Medicine

• Inform your doctor about all prescription and over-the-counter medicines, herbal products, and supplements you are taking before starting Molnupiravir.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdose of this medicine may increase the risk of side effects such as nausea, dizziness, diarrhoea, or headache. If you experience these symptoms, inform your doctor immediately and follow their advice.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, within 10 hours of the missed dose. If more than 10 hours have passed, skip the missed dose and continue the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose.

Management of Side Effects

• Most side effects are temporary and usually improve with time or after completion of treatment. However, if you experience severe allergic reactions or worsening symptoms, consult your doctor immediately.
• Drink adequate fluids and take proper rest during COVID-19 recovery to help reduce discomfort and dehydration.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• This medicine may cause dizziness in some individuals. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you feel dizzy or unwell after taking this medicine.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Molnupiravir is not recommended during pregnancy because it may harm the unborn baby. Effective contraception should be used during treatment and for a short period after the last dose, as advised by your doctor.
• Men with partners of childbearing potential may also be advised to use effective contraception for a period after treatment.
• Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment and for 4 days after the last dose unless advised by your doctor.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in older adults and individuals with weakened immune systems, or serious underlying medical conditions.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Maintain proper hydration and consume nutritious meals to support recovery from COVID-19 infection.
• Take adequate rest and avoid strenuous physical activity until recovery is complete.
• Follow infection control measures such as hand hygiene, mask use, and avoiding close contact with others during active infection.
• Monitor symptoms regularly and seek medical attention if breathing difficulty, chest pain, or worsening symptoms occur.
