Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults.

Contraindications

• Lornoxicam should be avoided in the following conditions: If you have a known allergy (hypersensitivity) to lornoxicam, If you are currently taking other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as acetylsalicylic acid (for example, aspirin), ibuprofen, or COX-2 inhibitors, Individuals who have a hypersensitivity to other NSAIDs, including acetylsalicylic acid, should also refrain from using lornoxicam, If you suffer from certain medical conditions such as thrombocytopenia (a low blood platelet count increasing the risk of bleeding or bruising), severe heart failure, gastrointestinal bleeding or rupture, bleeding disorders, active peptic ulcer, recurrent peptic ulcer, severe liver impairment, or severe kidney impairment, If you are in the last three months of your pregnancy.

Medications to Avoid with This Drug

• Lornoxicam may interact with blood thinners (warfarin, heparin, phenprocoumon), immunosuppressants (tacrolimus, cyclosporine), painkillers (aspirin), antacids (cimetidine), anti-rheumatics (methotrexate), antipsychotics (lithium), cardiac glycosides (digoxin), antidiabetics (glibenclamide), antibiotics (rifampicin), antifungals (fluconazole), anticancer agents (pemetrexed), diuretics, ACE inhibitors, beta-adrenergic blockers, antidepressants, and corticosteroids.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of this medication may cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or disturbances in vision. If you observe this symptom, inform your doctor and follow the advice accordingly.
• If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But avoid repeating the dose.

Management of Side Effects

• Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• This medication will not impair your ability to drive or operate machinery.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• This medicine is not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is also contraindicated in the last three months of pregnancy. 

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with renal or hepatic conditions should exercise caution when taking this medicine if you have a history of high blood pressure and/or heart failure; if you suffer from ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease; if you have a history of bleeding tendency; if you have a history of asthma; if you suffer from SLE (lupus erythematosus, a rare immunological disease).

• Adequate sleep is also essential as it allows muscles to rest, reducing inflammation and swelling. To reduce stress, consider practising meditation, reading, taking warm baths, or listening to soothing music. 
• Alternative therapies like acupuncture, massage, and physical therapy may provide additional relief. Including antioxidant-rich foods such as berries, spinach, kidney beans, and dark chocolate in your diet can help combat inflammation. 
• Foods containing flavonoids, like soy, berries, broccoli, grapes, and green tea, may also help reduce inflammation. Lastly, it's important to avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption to support overall joint health and well-being.
