Dosage Forms Available

• Liquid Paraffin + Milk of Magnesia is available for oral use in the form of a suspension.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medication is intended for adults and children above the age of 12 years.

Contraindications

• Liquid Paraffin + Milk of Magnesia is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients, symptoms suggestive of appendicitis such as nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain, diagnosed kidney disease or dysfunction, faecal impaction or intestinal obstruction, and acute or undiagnosed abdominal conditions.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with antibiotics (such as tetracyclines and quinolones), cardiovascular medications (like digoxin), antiepileptic medicines (including gabapentin), and ion exchange resins (such as sodium polystyrene sulfonate).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Taking more than the prescribed dose may cause diarrhoea, abdominal cramping, and nausea. Prolonged or excessive use can also lead to laxative dependency. If you experience severe or persistent symptoms after an overdose, contact your doctor.
• This medicine is generally taken as needed rather than on a fixed schedule. If you have been advised to take it regularly and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
