Contraindications

• This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Cyproheptadine or any of the excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, pyloroduodenal obstruction, stenosing peptic ulcer, and in newborn or premature infants.

Other Medications To Avoid With This Medicine

• Cyproheptadine may interact with sedatives (diazepam and alprazolam), antidepressants (fluoxetine and amitriptyline), antihistamines (diphenhydramine and cetirizine), opioid pain relievers (tramadol and morphine), antipsychotics (chlorpromazine and quetiapine), and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (phenelzine and selegiline). Concurrent use may increase anticholinergic and central nervous system-related side effects.

Overdose And Missed Dose

• Overdose of this medicine may cause severe drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations, seizures, dry mouth, and rapid heartbeat. Immediate medical attention may be required if these symptoms occur.
• If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose.
