Contraindications

• Cetilistat is contraindicated for individuals suffering from chronic malabsorption syndromes, where the absorption of nutrients through the digestive tract is impaired.

• It should not be used by individuals who have cholestasis, a condition in which the flow of bile from the liver is blocked.

• Inform your doctor on all medicines you are taking including prescription, non-prescription and other supplements to prevent unwanted side effects.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Taking more than the prescribed dose of Cetilistat is more likely to cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as oily stools, increased flatulence, and abdominal discomfort. If you suspect an overdose or these symptoms are severe, consult your doctor.

• Cetilistat is usually taken with meals containing fat. If you miss a dose and your meal did not contain fat, or your next meal is approaching, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.

Management of Side Effects

• It is advised to consult your doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Individuals with a history of hyperoxaluria or calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis should exercise caution when taking Cetilistat as it may increase the risk of developing oxalate stones.
