• Bimatoprost + Timolol is available for use via the topical route (eye drops).

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults only. It is not recommended for use in children or adolescents.

Contraindications

• Bimatoprost + Timolol should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to Bimatoprost, timolol, or any excipients in the formulation.

• It is contraindicated in patients with bronchial asthma, history of bronchial asthma, and severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

• Do not use this medicine if you have sinus bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome, sino-atrial block, second- or third-degree atrioventricular block.

• It is also contraindicated in patients with overt cardiac failure or cardiogenic shock.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with other eye drops for glaucoma (such as latanoprost, travoprost), oral beta blockers (like atenolol, propranolol), calcium channel blockers (such as diltiazem, verapamil), digoxin, quinidine, clonidine, and antidepressants (like fluoxetine, paroxetine).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• If you accidentally use more drops than prescribed, rinse your eyes with clean, room-temperature water. If irritation or other symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor.

• If you miss a dose of Bimatoprost + Timolol, use it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not use a double dose to make up for the missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• If you experience mild eye irritation or dryness while using Bimatoprost + Timolol, ensure that you are applying the eye drops correctly and not touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface.

• Blurry vision may occur right after application. Rest your eyes until this clears up.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• This medicine might cause blurry vision temporarily right after application. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until your vision has cleared and you feel confident that it does not compromise your ability to drive safely.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Bimatoprost + Timolol should be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if prescribed by your doctor. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing before starting treatment with this medicine.

Caution in Other Conditions

• If you are using another topical eye medication, inform your doctor before using this medicine.

• Patients with heart conditions such as heart block or heart failure should also use this medication cautiously. Also inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver impairment.

• In closed-angle glaucoma, Timolol could potentially worsen symptoms due to its effect on aqueous humour dynamics.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Maintain a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids found in fish like salmon and seeds like flaxseed, which have been shown to benefit overall eye health.

• Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated; this helps maintain healthy fluid levels in your body and possibly also in your eyes.

• Exercise regularly but avoid activities that involve heavy lifting or rapid head movements, which might exacerbate eye pressure.

• Avoid excessive caffeine and high-salt foods, as they can potentially increase eye pressure.

• Practice regular eye relaxation techniques such as blinking exercises or closing your eyes momentarily when doing work that requires prolonged visual attention.
