Dosage Forms Available

• Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Hydroxide (Milk of Magnesia) + Simethicone + Sodium Alginate is available in the form of chewable tablets and suspensions.

• This medication can also be taken as a reconstituted powder that can be made into a suspension.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults and children above 12 years of age.

Contraindications

• This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to any of the ingredients.

• It is also contraindicated in patients with severe constipation, high levels of magnesium or aluminium in the blood, and kidney disease.

• Patients on a low-phosphate diet should also avoid this medicine.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with several medications, including antibiotics (such as tetracyclines or ciprofloxacin), iron supplements, antifungal medicines (like itraconazole), and certain heart medications (such as digoxin).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdosing on this medication can lead to symptoms such as diarrhoea, abdominal cramping, muscle weakness, mood changes, slow or irregular heartbeat, confusion and even coma. If you observe any of these symptoms, inform your doctor immediately.

• If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, avoid doubling the dose to make up for the missed one.

• It is advised to consult a doctor before using this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with Alzheimer's disease should exercise caution when taking this medication as absorption of aluminium may potentially worsen the disease.
